Discusses the concept of including a Yisroel in the cooking process - and the various opinions on what level of participation is required. Is it sufficient for a Yisroel to partially contribute to the cooking of the food (by turning on the fire or raising the temperature) or must he be involved in the entire cooking process?
We will also discuss the psak of the Mechaber in Shulchan Aruch that follows the stringent position which requires a Yisroel to actively participate in the cooking process in order for food to be considered bishul Yisroel - the accepted practice among Sefardi kehillos. Common Ashkenazi practice, however, is to follow the Rema who is less stringent in this matter.
