This sugya discusses the Bracha of Leysheiv BaSukkah, - when it is recited and on what. This topic is debated extensively amongst the Rishonim/Poskim. The following are some questions that we discuss:
- Does one make a bracha every time he enters the sukkah?
- Does one make a bracha only once a day?
- Does one make a bracha on every specific type of action (i.e. eat, sleep, spend time, etc.) in the sukkah, even if he did not leave the sukkah between these actions?
The prevalent p’sak Halacha is that one only recites a Bracha on eating , however even within this p’sak, we have further questions:
Why does one only make a Bracha on eating? Is this because the Bracha on eating encompasses all other activites (and therefore a Bracha is not required for the others), or is it because eating has a unique status which makes it different than all other activities?
According to this opinion, does one make a Bracha when eating in the morning (which includes every time he will eat for the remainder of the day) or is he required to make a new Bracha every time he has a hefsek? Is he required to make a new Bracha when visiting the Sukka of a friend or neighbor?
