This Sugya discusses the topic of patronizing Jewish-owned businesses, as well as hiring Jewish employees and contractors.  This Halacha is not mentioned in the Rambam or Shulchan Aruch, but it is brought down as a Drasha in the Toras Kohanim. Assuming that is a real obligation and not just a recommended practice, the question arises if this obligation exists even when the Jew's price for the item is higher than that of other vendors.

Does this mitzvah apply when other conditions make it more difficult to purchase at the Jew's establishment, even if the price is comparable?  Distance, lack of adequate parking, limited return policy – are these factors that exempt one from this mitzvah?
