Focuses on the obligation to distribute Matanos L’evyonim on Purim. Also explores the essence of this obligation and discusses whether it is merely an obligation to perform the mitzvah of tzedakah on Purim, or rather a special Simchas Purim obligation and therefore not subject to the standard halachos of tzedakah.  We will also discuss various halacha l’maaseh implications of this analysis.
